Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – May 2024

April Showers bring May Flowers. Maybe more appropriately, May the Fourth be with you. Welcome to May! April was a great month for recording videos and for playing gaming. I published my Dungeon in a Box Unboxing Plus video early in the month. I am glad to see the video doing as well as it is and I hope people enjoy it.

I recorded unboxing videos almost every weekend in May. I have quite the backlog to get edited and published! The only problem is that now that I have my gaming table set back up, I have been spending most of my free time playing these newly unboxed games. It’s a great problem to have.

I am in the process of editing an unboxing video for Gloomhaven Buttons & Bugs. I hope to have this published in the next few days. After that is dealer’s choice on what video to work on next. I started editing the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game unboxing. I also have videos for a Choose Your Own Adventure game, Dominant Species Marine, Maracaibo, Teotihuacan, and more.

I got a new Button Shy wallet game that has great artwork and I want to do an unboxing video for it. I also want to get a video game playthrough recorded, but I think that will be on the back burner while I get some regular videos done.

I haven’t had much time left over to run the Ironsworn RPG, but I have started creating my character and envisioning my version of the world.

Lots to do this month so we’ll see how disciplined I can be!  Talk to you next month!

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – April 2024

April is here. Time is moving ever onward. I published the Unboxing Plus video for Agropolis at the end of March. I also recorded more videos which was great and they are simply waiting on me to edit them. I am currently working on the unboxing video for the 1st box in the Dungeon in a Box subscription. I am actually almost done with the editing and I’m hoping to publish in the next few days.

After that I will probably work on the unboxing videos for Pathfinder Adventure Card Game and its expansion. Looking ahead I will need to record more videos so that I don’t fall behind, possibly some more unboxing videos of Button Shy wallet games. I also want to get a video game playthrough recorded. I think I even have a new spot to record it in which is nice. If we look further ahead, I am reading through the Ironsworn RPG book and I want to run a few solo sessions of that. With the hope being to film a walkthrough of the RPG book and my first impressions of it.

I’ll talk to you next month!

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – March 2024

March is halfway done, but I’m feeling good about the rest of the month. We returned a few days ago from a sunny vacation and it was fabulous. We are starting to turn the corner with the weather and days are now sunnier an hour long. Work is a contradiction – it will continue to be busy for a while yet, but it will also be settling down into a new routine.

On a positive note, I was able to get both the Lacorsa video and the calendar quest video published last month. I have to keep up the momentum I have going.

Next up I’ll be working on a video looking over the Button Shy game of Agropolis. It’s already recorded and I just need to start editing it. I think for this upcoming weekend I’ll finally get the Dungeon in a Box videos recorded that I’ve been wanting to get done.

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – February 2024

The start of February has been productive. I released my Lacorsa Grand Prix Unboxing Plus video yesterday. Next up are a couple of RPG-related videos. I want to work on the Dungeon in a Box videos I mentioned in my January post. I also have a calendar quest RPG that sounds really fun. I want to get into that pretty quick since it’s supposed to be a daily calendar for 2024. I think that is where most of my focus will be for February.

Not much else is planned out for February. Work life has gotten interesting so I need to spend some time concentrating on that. I do want to get a video game playthrough out this month. Those are quicker to edit and release which will help keep my release pattern going.

I think I’ll keep this one short and sweet. I will talk to you next month and hopefully will have more irons in the fire!

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – 2024 and January 2024

A new year is here. 2023 was a good year for my channel and I’m looking forward to even more in 2024. I published my first RPG video which was exciting. I’ve been wanting to get that done for a while now and it was good to finally check it off my list. I am going to continue with the new series and I already have my next 2 videos planned out. I joined the Dungeon in a Box subscription and as part of joining, I also received the December Wondrous One Shots adventure. Since the one shot is winter-themed, I want to get those done sooner rather than later. Hopefully, I can get at least one, if not both, published in January.

I don’t want to get away from board games though and I already recorded another unboxing for a Christmas present my husband gave me. It is for a game called Lacorsa Grand Prix. We both love F1 so it’s a good family game for us. I will also finish up the Campus Wahala unboxing video which has been on my list for a few months now. Hopefully, I can get the Lacorsa unboxing done in January, and possibly the Campus Wahala one as well, but that’s lower on the list of all the videos I want to finish in January.

Another new series I’d like to get going this year is playthroughs of some of these board games I am unboxing. I’m more nervous with that series as I don’t want to get any rules wrong. I will start small with some rules-lite games before considering any of the heavier games I own. I am also cognizant of my space constraints so I want to look into a different setup that will provide me more room for not only playthroughs but also unboxings. I don’t have any playthroughs planned for January, but I do want to start this soon as it’s been on my list for most of last year as well.

I will also be continuing my video game playthroughs. They’re a fun change from my other videos and pretty straightforward to create and edit. I will continue my current ones and I also want to add in a few other games. I would like one published in January, but with all my other plans, I’m not sure if I will get it done.

I’m also heading out for a quick vacation which will eat into my work time. I won’t complain though as it’s certainly been a tough couple of months and I need some relaxing time to recharge.

Thanks again for coming along on this journey with me! It’s been a lot of fun and I appreciate the support.

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – December 2023

Happy December! I can’t believe the end of the year is upon us already. On the positive side of things, I have my first RPG video rendered to watch. Hopefully it’s all good and I can get it published shortly. I’m still kicking around a few different names for the new series, I hope inspiration strikes soon.

After my RPG video, I plan on jumping back into the Campus Wahala video. It’s helped to step away from the video so that I can start fresh on it.

I was able to beat the end of November and I published the video game playthrough for Pathfinder. I need to decide what the next playthrough to record will be. Besides that, I don’t have much else planned at the moment. I want to get more unboxing videos going and more RPG videos. A lot of ideas, now I need to get them done!

We’ll see how it goes. A lot is going on right now between personal life and work life. Plus it is the holiday season so that will also cause some distractions.

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great rest of the year!

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – November 2023

I can tell you that what’s upcoming is: December! Is this very late? Yes, but I am finally making some progress on videos. The past month or so hasn’t seen much as the two videos that I have been actively editing both had audio issues (different issues) which pretty much halted all forward momentum. I also had another one on the back burner with audio issues.

After some discussion with my design guy (aka my husband), he showed me how I could fix my audio issues and I decided it was easier to simply scrap two of the videos due to the audio issues. They were both video game playthroughs so it is easy enough to scrap them and re-film them. I re-filmed one of them yesterday and so far so good.

Unfortunately, Campus Wahala had some scratching in my microphone audio which my husband has worked to remove most of the offenders. While it’s frustrating to work through, I will not scrap this video. I will be finishing this one up and publishing it at some point as it is much harder to film an unboxing video on a board game that’s already been unboxed.

In the meantime, I decided it was high time to record an RPG book ‘unboxing’. I recorded my first one yesterday and started editing it last night! The video will be a little more involved than my regular board game unboxings as I also recorded video of myself to make it slightly more interesting than just staring at my hands. I’m about halfway through the first editing pass and it’s looking, and more importantly, sounding great! I also need to come up with a name for the new series.

With Thanksgiving in just a couple of days, I’m hoping it won’t derail my current momentum and I’m hoping to have both the RPG book video and the video game playthrough edited and published before the end of November.

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – October 2023

October is here and it’s the best month of the year! Vacation was amazing and I’m ready to get back into work for my channel. If I had written this a couple of days ago, I could have put down that I was going to publish my next video game playthrough. Alas, I did not, but I will mention that Stray, part 2 is now published so you should go watch it. Don’t worry, I’ll wait for you to get back.

I am working on a couple of videos currently. I’m editing a video game playthrough for a Pathfinder game and an unboxing plus video of a Kickstarter game called Campus Wahala. I haven’t forgotten about UNE and want to get that recorded. And I’m looking at the next couple of RPG books that I want to show on the channel.

I wasn’t able to work on the dinosaur script at all before I left for vacation but it is still on the list as is Numbsters by Button Shy Games. I still want to get an actual board game playthrough filmed but I only have so much time left outside of work!

I hope you are enjoying the ride so far and thanks for reading.

May and Jun’s Whimsical Adventures – 2023

May was an odd month for me. As I mentioned in my July Upcoming blog, we got into a car accident in May and it was definitely a curveball. I didn’t spend much time working on the channel for a couple of months.

While I didn’t do much for the channel, I did get a lot of RPG videos watched. I watched episodes from a few different seasons of Dimension 20 – The Ravening War, A Crown of Candy, and Fantasy High. I really fell down the rabbit hole with Me, Myself and Die on YouTube. He makes great solo adventure videos and he inspired me to start my own solo adventure. I’m using the DND 5e rules set and the Mythic Games Master Emulator book to run it. I was expecting lots of adventure and fighting, but it has turned into a mystery adventure. It was completely unexpected, but I am loving it! I’ve been kicking around the idea to do some blog posts of my adventure and it’s been added to my list of things I want to do for the channel.

For games, I went hogwild in June! It was a fantastic couple of months for playing. I even got my husband to play a few games of Sushi Go with me! I had some table space available and was able to play the physical versions of La Granja, Under Falling Skies, Nemo’s War, and a new-to-me game, Sleep Tight. I recorded an unboxing video for Sleep Tight a while ago and need to get it edited and uploaded. On BGA I played 10 solo games of Sagani. What a great game. I also learned how to play Teotihuacan, Space Station Phoenix, and Loco Momo. Teotihuacan is such a puzzly game. I’ve played a few games against a much better player and I have learned so much from him by watching the actions he takes. The Castles of Burgundy, Carnegie, Earth, and Ark Nova rounded out the games I played. In all, I played 32 games in June which is the most I’ve played in one month this year.

As you can see, I kept myself busy outside of my channel work but it was channel adjacent. There are so many games out there that I have plenty to keep me busy for years to come.

Thanks for reading!

Sneak Peek into What’s Upcoming – September 2023

It’s a holiday weekend and I have 3 solid days to work on videos. I have a vacation coming up and I would like some videos ready to go while I’m gone.

I’m still debating on whether I want to use the video with the audio issues. It’s coming along though and I think it will be ok. This weekend is also going to be a test run of the RPG supplement I want to record called the Universal NPC Emulator or UNE for short. I think I have it figured out so now I need to make sure it all works. I’m also reading through the Mythic Game Master Emulator which I’m using to run my first solo adventure with. I plan on recording a video for that book so I definitely have a lot of work to do. I’m excited to branch out into some new videos!

I’m finishing up a script for a video I recorded a while back. It involves the cutest tiny dinosaurs I’ve ever seen. It is a video for the future as I won’t get the script and video edited in September. Lots of ideas but I want to keep it focused this month.

Happy Labor Day!
