My name is Kelley and I am a newbie to the board gaming world. When I was a kid I would play any game I could including Monopoly, Sorry, the Babysitter’s Club Game, HeroQuest and Axis & Allies. I love a wide variety of games including computer games and playing card games like War, Rummy, Spider Solitaire and Freecell.
Nobody else I knew really liked board games when I was growing up so I lost interest in the hobby. Many years passed before my husband finally convinced me to visit a local board game store which was extremely sweet of him since he has no interest in playing board games. While there I found a game, Grimslingers, that had solo play available. Life intervened and I set it aside unplayed but would look at the game once in a while and think about playing it.
During the early days of the pandemic, I discovered a small little app called YouTube (have you heard of it?) that opened up the world of modern board gaming to me. I am playing catch up and started my collection and am rolling right along.
I plan on producing some videos that will be my introduction to the game. I plan to start small with unboxing videos and some playthroughs of computer games. My audience will probably lean toward newer players in the hobby who want to see what is out there. For the future, I have ideas of other videos (or maybe even a podcast) I’d like to create and some of it may not be board game related.
